You can also 'hitch your wagon' onto an international corporation that manufactures goods they sell to customers via independent distributors.

No need any more for large staff salary budgets, warehouse and office rentals, or any big overhead costs at all.

You can open your own Small Office / Home Office based business with a very small investment of a few hundred dollars, and some basic office equipment to make sure your business in 'online' to give you new sales leads and take orders for you 24/7

This lens will give you a few ideas and strategies for getting started in your home business in the cheapest and most profitable way.

Most people would like to start a home business.

They like the freedom of being able to work whenever they want to or wherever they want to.

However, it is not easy to get there because many of them are stuck in a rut!

They feel that they are controlled by their bosses. They feel that it would take too much time.

Some of them even whine that they are too tired to do anything the moment they reach home!

The Internet is a place that is filled with endless possibilities. It is very easy to find a business model that makes money for anyone as long as they put in the effort to learn and work hard.

All that it takes is that you believe in yourself and believe that you will be able to free yourself from the shackles of your 9-5 job and you will be able to find the means to achieve it.

After all, if you want something badly enough, you will go all out and find the means to achieve your goals.

Top 7 Reasons To Have a Business Website

The 20th centuries internet boom showed us that even the smallest of business needed a website to compete in the market. As we entered the 21st century, this became even more apparent as everyday people gained internet access and started searching for products on services online.

Over 90% of all American families have a home computer, and some form of internet access, whether it be dial up or high speed broadband. Out of those 90%, over 65% will search online first when making a new purchase or hiring someone's service.

If those numbers alone do not convince you to build a website for your business, then these reasons should:

1) Sell your products online- The ability to sell your products online, typically using an online shopping cart or eBay, could greatly increase your sales.

Just thing, your products will be seen in more then one place, give you greater exposure. Plus, the overhead of displaying your products in an online shopping cart is FAR less then in a conventional store.

2) Give information that you would not normally be able too- You do not want to clutter your physical store with posters that talk about the history of your business, your mission, policies, etc. If your physical store looks cluttered, then it will hurt your business.

A website can be organized in a neat manner with any and all the information you want displayed. Plus, providing information about your business will make the customer feel more informed, which in turn will make them more likely to do business with you.

3) Websites are global- A website is globally accessible, provided your domain name is known or searchable. Can you name one of form of advertising that is available to anyone in the world, 24 hours a day? You may gain clientele that you would not normally be able to market too in the "real world."

4) Website are cheap- Sure, initially it will cost you some money to create and setup your website, but once your website is up, it will remain up as long as you keep paying for hosting and your domain name, which averages about 6 dollars a month. You cannot place an ad in the local newspaper for 6 dollars a week, much less 6 dollars a month.

5) Clients will be able to view your store and contact you 24 hours a day. You business probably has set hours in which you are open. Once you close your doors for the day, no other customer can come in and make a purchase. With a website your products are available for purchase 24 hours a day.

6) Minimize customer problems and questions- Again, this goes back to the information situation. If a client has a problem or question about your products or services, instead of tying up your phone line and time, they can go online and read the information that you have provided, or at least direct them to a website that can help them (ex: If you sold them a Sony walkman, you can direct them to the Sony website for any troubleshooting.)

7) Chances are, you completion has a website- The amount of businesses with a website are on the rise. With numbers reaching 80%, you cannot afford to NOT have a website, because chances are your competition already has a website.

Choosing the right Work from Home Business

When you are considering working from home, there is a set of decisions that must be made.

First, you must decide whether or not working at home is right for you. Next, you need to consider what type of work at home job you will be doing.

There are many opportunities for Wahms out there, both offline and off. Having a successful Wahm career starts with evaluating your own skills and requirements in a job and then finding the right match.

Sometimes the best place to start with your Wahm career is where your out of the home career ended. Many women find that they can become independent contractors in the field that they previously worked in.

You can use your previous work experience as a launching pad for your Wahm career. Some of the ways to use your experience to your advantage are: finding a company that hires people in your field to work from home, using your previous experience to become an "expert" writer in your field or starting a business related to your previous field.

However, some women look at their Wahm careers as a way to break out of their old job. If you'd like to try something completely different, there are plenty of opportunities for entry-level work as an independent contractor.

Many of these jobs deal with telephone or online customer service. When you work as a customer service agent from your home, you just need a reliable Internet connection and a working phone.

Companies also hire medical transcriptionists, data entry professionals and virtual personal assistants to telecommute.

If you want to start your own business, the opportunities are very vast. You can start with a direct sales company and sell products from an established brand to friends and neighbors.

You'll make commissions through your sales and also off of recruiting other people to sell the products. There are hundreds of direct sales companies that offer everything from aromatherapy products to candles to cooking supplies.

Another option for starting your own business is offering a service in your community. Day care center operators, florists, professional organizers and hairdressers all have the option of working at home, among many other professions.

Of course, starting a business in your community normally means that you've had some experience in that field. However, there are some small business ideas that can be started without much experience at all.

Many women turn to the Internet for a source of at home income. The World Wide Web offers a plethora of job opportunities. You can offer your services online as a freelance web designer, writer or virtual assistant. You can also start an online store that sells products that you make yourself or have the rights to resell.

Many Wahms establish their businesses online by using one of the popular auction sites, like eBay. Still others find a home in internet marketing, by directing web traffic to a website and then recommending certain products and services.

Decide first what type of job you'd like to do and then work from there. If you are truly a people person and need to get out each day, direct sales or a local service business might be right for you.

If you are the type of mom who lives online and is comfortable with the Internet, try finding a job or starting your own business on the web. If you like the comfort of having a weekly paycheck, look into telecommuting positions.

Once you've decided what category of job you'd like, do some research on what it takes to be successful at that type of business. If you feel like you are drawn to one particular business or company, then sit on your decision for a week and see how it feels.

Imagine what your life will be like as you take on the duties of that job. Most importantly, be realistic with yourself about how much time you can devote to your business. Finding the right match isn't hard when you thoroughly consider your options.

Treat yourself to a home office

When you hear the words "home office," the idea of a treat isn't the first thing that comes to mind. And yet a home office is a treat because it allows you to set aside a specific area for your work and for other tasks (such as paying bills and balancing checks) that don't fit within the general flow of your household. A home office gives you the luxury of privacy and space.

Here are some things to consider when planning your home office:

Where
The first consideration in planning your home office is location. A spare bedroom is usually the most likely choice because it is a separate area from the rest of the house, and spare bedrooms generally provide a lot of space.

Also, most spare bedrooms have one or more windows; a window is a desirable thing in a home office because it provides natural light, keeps you from feeling suffocated, and gives you a view of the outside world when you need to let your mind wander.

Other possible locations are the kitchen (accessible, but may be noisy or in an inconvenient spot); the basement (private, but has no windows); and the attic (private, but may be falling apart). Determine your personal requirements and find a location that meets them.

Why
The purpose of your home office determines the number and type of things you will need. Do you work at home or do you just want a space for answering mail? Do you need a full-fledged office set-up (including such facilities as a separate phone line, fax machine, and computer with Internet access) or just a desk and chair?

When
Another important consideration in planning your home office is your work hours. If you intend to spend most of your day in your home office, your home office is going to look different from that of a person who sits down at his desk just a few hours a week. You might want to keep a small refrigerator and a water dispenser in your home office, or situate it near a bathroom.

How much
Your budget is a major consideration, but it isn't necessarily a limitation. There are many kinds of home office furniture, and sellers offer a wide range of prices. Shop around for a good deal.

Remember, you're the boss in your home office. The point of having a home office is making the space work for you.

Your SOHO Financial Goals - and maximizing the Tax Deduction Benefits of owning a Business

To get your small home office up and running profitably as quickly as possible, you need to plan for your success.

You want to start making money real fast in your business. You're going after customers like a race car driver is going after the checkered flag and you want to hurry up and recoup the money that you spent establishing your SOHO business.

The problem is that most SOHO businesses don't take the time to set up financial plans and budgets for their business. When the cash flow comes, most owners misappropriate the money and then find themselves in a financial crisis.

Business and personal items aren't separated and many owners get caught in a financial quagmire that they struggle to straighten out.

You have projected budgets for your business. Some SOHO business owners have the attitude that they don't need planning as far as their finances because they keep all financial transactions in their checkbook.

There have the thought that they are just a "home business" and that they don't need QuickBooks or Peachtree Accounting Software to keep track of their finances.

Business Accounting is different from writing totals in your checkbook. In setting up your financial modules, you must look at trends, profit and loss statements, account receivables reports and any other report that provides a picture of where your business is financially.

This should be done on a monthly basis and the accounts should be set up to automatically reflect the type of business that you are running.

As a business owner, you should take advantage of the classes that are held through your city's business and economic development chapter. Most cities provide basic training in financial management and small business accounting. Most often, they will bring a banker or financial consultant to a meeting to talk to a group about the importance of business accounting and financial management.

You need to keep good financial records for tax purposes and for obtaining future financing. Many business vendors will request your corporate profit and loss statement before extending credit to your business.

As a SOHO business owner, it's imperative that you set financial goals and objectives so that you won't be seeing red!

Business Structure and Tax Issues for a SOHO Business

As a business owner, you must understand the basics of the American tax system or you might run into trouble with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

If you don't understand how your taxes should be paid, it would be a good idea to consult a tax accountant that knows the IRS laws concerning payment of taxes and shelters. Tax accountants can also tell you what can or cannot be deducted.

The tax code differs according to the type of structure that you have determined your business to be. There are several structures that will determine how your taxes are handled.

Those structures are Sole Proprietorship, Limited Liability Partnerships, S and C Corporations and Limited Liability Corporation.

Sole Proprietorship -
This is probably the oldest form of business ownership dating back to pre-historic man and it's a simple one.

There are no partners, investors or stockholders. It's just a person running and owning their business with the all the responsibility and liability in their hands.

The business stops when the sole proprietor dies. That's it unless he or she has in their will that a certain person can come along and run the business assuming the assets and liabilities.

Sole proprietors usually pay higher taxes than the other business structures that are discussed here.

Limited Liability Partnership -
A Limited Liability Partnership is just what it says.

It has the formation of a basic partnership agreement, kind of like a handshake on paper but the difference is that the LLP can be responsible for the debts ran up within the business and the partners not be held accountable. The tax liability is different in an LLP and the partners have a right to manage the business directly.

S or C- Corporations -
The difference between S and corporation is that a C corporation is taxed by Federal Corporate Income tax standards. The amount of shareholders you can have in an S corporation is unlimited and you can have foreign shareholders having stock within the corporation.

An S-Corporation is not taxed by the Federal Corporate Income tax standards.S Corporations are taxed according gto the rules and regulations in Subchapter S of the Internal Revenue Code.

An S-Corporation pays no corporate income tax on any profits that the company makes and the shareholders bear the brunt of paying taxes on their shares. Taxes are still paid whether the shareholders or S-corporation is making money or not.

Limited Liability Corporation -
This is the newest form of corporation to come along within the past fifteen to twenty years and this is what the majority of SOHO owners and business people set their business structure with.

The Limited Liability Corporation is a hybrid structure that has the flexibility of a sole proprietorship and the management of a partnership.

A manager or owner in a limited liability corporation as treated as the entity and a limited liability corporation with multiple managers is treated the same way as as Limited Liability Partnership.

A Limited Liabilitity Corporation can defeat the concept of double taxation for your business.
These are the structures that you should study and incorporate into your SOHO strategic plan.

Goal Setting For Business Success

Goal setting is one technique that directs your subconscious and conscious decisions to succeed. Goal setting strengthens your motivation to attain your business or personal goals.

In general, this technique emerged from numerous practical experiences as well as psychology research.

Goal setting helps you decide or prioritize your desires. Furthermore, proper setting of goals can be extremely motivating. As it becomes a habit, you will discover that your self-esteem is turbo-charged.

Actually, people set goals when they plan what they want to achieve for the day, week or month. You make a decision on what you want to do, then discover what is needed to accomplish your goal. From there, you move into complex goals leading to your future.

Here are some goal setting guidelines:

1. Be accurate. You need to set an accurate goal and indicate specific time frame and resources required. Having measurable goals helps in measuring levels of achievement. Doing this will enable you to discover exactly when the goal has been achieved. Furthermore, this will motivate you on setting another goal.

2. Write down your business goals. This is an essential step to working out the S.M.A.R.T. values and strategies of achieving these goals.

3. Set only goals that are realistic. Take note that you only want to set achievable goals. Disappointment sets in if you set a very high goal and fail to reach it.

4. Set priorities. If you have numerous goals, then you need to number them according to importance. This will help you from feeling overwhelmed, direct your concentration to the most significant ones, and achieve goals one by one.

5. Keep goals manageable. Work on achievable and small goals. If your goal is too big, then it may appear daunting and difficult to achieve. Small and incremental goals provide more reward opportunities. Derive smaller goals from huge ones.

6. Set performance-type goals rather than outcome goals. Set goals wherein you have complete control of the situation.

When you establish goals based on your personal capability, you can maintain control over your achievement.

7. Never set "low" goals.
As it is vital not to establish unrealistic goals, also never set your goals "too low".

People are inclined to set easy goals because they often fear failure. You must achieve balance in setting your goals. Also, flexibility and persistence are needed in setting your goals.

When faced with unexpected problems and difficulties, use your determination and persistence to stick with your goals.

Developing Your SOHO Business Mission Statement

If someone asked you what your business is about, can you tell them in a brief, clear and concise way inn which it's powerful?

Would you say "I sell shoes" or would you say "I manufacture various types of shoes for distribution to major wholesalers across the United States". Again, which statement would you use?

The Mission Statement part of your action plan should define your business. SOHO's can benefit from having a defined mission statement.

It is professional and it reaffirms the goals and objectives of your small business. It also reminds you on what your business is all about and how your business will serve people or other businesses.

Some SOHO businesses die because they lose focus of their mission. They started off good but they never wrote down a mission statement. The money flowed and the clients came but all of a sudden, a downturn happened in their business and they couldn't make it back out of the ditch. The problem was that they never defined their mission statement.

Structure brings success and many SOHO businesses don't have structure. Along with the Executive part of your action plan, the mission statement is the next important item that you can create and adhere to.

Let's say that you manufacture shoes out of your SOHO. How would you write your mission statement?

Let's try to formulate a mission statement for Joes' Shoe Manufacturing Company

Joe's Old Mission Statement:
"We manufacture shoes".

Joes New Mission Statement:
"Joes Shoe Manufacturing Company specializes in the manufacturing of fine quality leather shoes for men and women in various and special sizes for distribution to various shoe outlets throughout the United States and Europe. When you see the insignia of excellence in our shoes, you know that you are buying the finest footwear in the world through our company.

The second mission statement introduces the company and its operation or specialty, the target market and adjacent markets, the geographical reach of your operation and the trademark or brand identification of your business.

Try writing out your mission statement on a piece of paper. Mission statements also change due to the direction of your company. This is what the action plan for SOHO's are all about. It shows you possibilities and angles that you never saw before in your business.

Essential Keys to Stay Motivated In Business

What are the three keys to self-improvement and motivation?

1) INSPIRATION
You need inspiration to keep you motivated at improving your self. If you are not interested in your business, your motivation level will never be high and you will not be able to sustain interest for long periods.

Take an honest look at your inspiration level. Are you excited about going to work or is it an obligation? A number of people choose a business that looks good on paper, but does not interest them.

These individuals will grow weary and uninterested quickly because they have no inspiration or passion to sustain them during the difficult times they will encounter as a small business owner.

If you do not like your work, then think how you can re-focus your small business to match your needs. Consider making a change entirely. Without inspiration, you will not be motivated to even try self- improvement.

2) SET GOALS
Short and long-term goal setting is vital for any business owner. If you do not set goals, you would have no definite purpose on which path to take.

How could you possibly be motivated if you were unsure about the direction of your company?

Take the time to put your goals in writing. A business plan may sound daunting, but it is really nothing more than goals, strategies, implementation plans, and a budget. Write your own business plan and update it at least annually.

Include "mini-goals" that can be accomplished in a matter of hours, days, or weeks. Include more ambitious "grand-goals" that may take years to complete. Refer to this plan throughout the year.

Can a business plan really help motivate you? Of course! Written goals will make you feel more professional and certainly more connected to your business. It will also free you from having to reinvent your business goals every single day.

3) NETWORKING
Another key factor in getting and staying motivated is networking with other small business owners. No one person knows all the information.

However, when a number of people begin working together, the challenges will just be there waiting to be conquered.

In fact, working alone is of one the most difficult parts of being an entrepreneur. You can never be on your way without the help of others. Mutual support is motivating.

Make life easier by connecting with others either within your community or online. Even when businesses are not related, you will often find common ground and ways to work together.

Many successful entrepreneurs report that finding the right networking group was a turning point in the growth of their business. When working together, a networking group can help its members generate more qualified sales leads and solve problems faster and more efficiently.

Sharing ideas, expertise, and experience is also an invaluable aspect of motivation and self-improvement. Your own personal team of business owners will help re-energize you when the burdens of running your own business seem too much.

A Positive Outlook for a Positive Life

Our outlook and attitude on life in general plays a huge part in how happy we are in life and how successful we become. Someone who thinks positively about everything will be more relaxed, calm and smile more than someone who is always looking on the bad side, who lets stress get to them and who constantly wear a frown.

Not only does how you think and feel affect you, it also affects those around you, in short our mood affects our day. Developing and keeping a positive outlook is essential if you wish to lead a positive and fulfilling life.

There are many ways in which you can develop a more positive outlook and begin to change how you think and feel about many situations that you encounter in day-to-day living. Changing your attitude and not slipping back into negative thinking will take time but eventually the new outlook will become second nature. The five main key points to remember when changing your outlook are

1. Turn your way of thinking into positive thinking and practice on a daily basis thinking positively. You should set your mind on completing one task at a time and think only of a positive outcome and how good you will feel when you have completed the task. Never give in to doubt and let yourself believe that you have taken too much on and just keep going.

2. Don't let your conversations turn negative, when in a conversation it is easy to let others discourage you, particularly if they have a negative outlook on life. Don't be tempted to fall back into your old ways, turn negative talk into positive and look for the good in everything and any situation.

3. Look for the positive in those around you and point it out, this way you can encourage a positive attitude all around you.

4. Whatever you are doing in your day-to-day life always look for the good in it, although it might be a boring task which you usually hate doing and one which leaves you feeling negatively, try to find something about it that turns it into a more positive situation.

5. Never let yourself become distracted or hoodwinked into going back to negativity, it takes time to change the way you feel and think and if you have been down on yourself and the world for a long time then your new outlook will take a while to register and stay around.

You will find over time that many areas of your life can be changed just by changing your outlook from a negative one to a more positive. You will find that your self-esteem improves, you become more popular, you feel happier and are more confident than before, you are able to tackle the tasks you once hated without them causing you stress and anxiety and your relationships improve.

These are just a few of the areas where you can self-improve and gain a more positive outlook and thus lead a more positive life.

Know your self-worth

Realizing your self-worth has nothing to do with checking your bank balance, it is about you, the person you are in life. We give others respect, love and consideration but how often do we give ourselves what is due?

How you value yourself is based on the self-esteem you have, your self-esteem shows you how much you truly value yourself. Healthy self-esteem leads to independence, happiness, flexibility, the ability to adapt easily to change, co-operation and a positive outlook on any situation.

Unhealthy or low self-esteem on the other hand leads only to irrational thoughts, unhappiness, fear of the new, rigidity, defensiveness and a negative outlook on life in general.

How we see ourselves has a lot to do with how others see us, if we are happy, smiling and full of confidence then others see us as someone they want to be around, if we respect ourselves and portray this then others will respect you too, after all how can you ask for respect from others if you don't even respect yourself?

So finding and developing your self-worth is all about developing your self-esteem, so let's take a look at esteem

High self-esteem

If you have a high self-esteem you will see certain traits in yourself and how you see yourself, traits linked with a high self-esteem or self-worth are

- You are secure about who you are and have confidence in your abilities
- You allow yourself to show your true feelings to others
- You don't have intimacy problems in relationships
- You are able to recognize and take pride in yourself for your achievements in life
- You are easily able to forgive yourself for mistakes and also forgive others

Low self-esteem

Similarly if you have problems with self-worth or low self-esteem then you will follow a certain pattern in your thoughts and ways, if you have problems with low self-esteem then you will see the following points in yourself

- You lack belief in yourself and are very insecure
- You have problems showing and accepting intimacy in relationships
- You never let your true feelings show
- You never recognize and give yourself credit for your accomplishments
- You have the inability to forgive yourself or others
- You resist change at every opportunity

Developing your self-worth

There are plenty of ways in which you can boost your self-esteem and change to a more positive and healthy outlook about yourself, here are some tips for developing and boosting your self-worth.

- Don't take other peoples criticism to heart, instead listen to what they are saying and learn from it.
- Take some time out for yourself everyday, meditate, look inside yourself and realize all your good points and imagine changing your bad ones into more positive.
- Celebrate and pride yourself on even the smallest achievements that you accomplish.
- Do something everyday that you enjoy, such as talking a walk in the sunshine or soaking in a bubble bath.
- Never deprive yourself of something you enjoy, if you know you shouldn't be doing it, then do it anyway and stop chastising yourself about it.

The benefits of using positive self-talk

One of the biggest influences that we can use to our advantage in life is oneself. In particular, we can use our thoughts because they in influence our feelings and therefore can have a profound effect on how we deal with life in general.

By learning to control our self-talk and turning it into positive self-talk rather than negative, which most people do unconsciously throughout the day, you can begin to gain more control over every aspect of your life and make essential changes.

Your ability to succeed in life largely depends on how you deal with life, a positive mental attitude leads to a confident and ultimately more successful person than one full of negativity which leads to a lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem.

By taking a positive attitude you look at life in a different way to one of negativity, a positive attitude leads to seeing good in people and t

Enthusiasm and Charisma: You Can Actually Develop Them!

Oh, if it were but easy to motivate others and get them to be enthusiastic about a task ahead.

While many leaders are great strategists and organizers, it takes a little bit more to be a true leader - a motivator that can rally people together to accomplish something big.

Some people are born with a natural charisma and appeal, while others have to practice the craft until they understand how to get a group to move forward as one. Here are a few things to work on when learning the art of charm.

1. It's Not Just About You. It might be, but it shouldn't be. And at the very least, you shouldn't give off that kind of vibe towards people around you.

There have been thousands of megalomaniacs with the verve to lead nations relying solely on their charisma - and egotism. They have the natural knack for pushing their ideals and thoughts until they become clear. They put forward their plans to reach the goal that is worth fighting for.

And for the lack of leadership and vision, people usually gravitate towards people who seem to know what to do and how to do things. You will have to develop your communication skills and your confidence and competence regarding your goal.

2. Unbridled Enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is infectious. People can smell it on you if you have it. And they will unknowingly absorb some of this when in you come in contact. So if you want to motivate your people, you yourself will have to be motivated.

Without motivation, people will perform below standards. And with this kind of attitude, not too many things get done.

3. Make Them Part of the Group. If you were but the littlest peon in the hierarchy, you probably wouldn't care about the goals of the leaders, or the project at hand. But if even you, the littlest one, were esteemed and respected, and treated as part of the group, wouldn't your redouble your efforts to get things done?

As a leader, your goal is to get people involved. Never think that anyone is beyond use. Everyone, big or small, has unique skills, and experience that can help get things done. So if you put your ears to the ground, you might be surprised at what people can contribute to your cause.

4. Regular Communication. The greatest of them will tell you that being able to stir them up with a raucous speech isn't enough. They have to know how things are going on as the project progresses. You should learn how to keep people posted on every development that is relevant.

5. Make Everyone Feel Special. You teach people how to react to you. If you don't have a natural interest in others, they may tend to be naturally turned off by you. If you treat everyone in a special manner, pretty soon people will know that you yourself are special.

Conclusion

You don't have to be mean to be a good leader - only firm. You don't have to be flimsy - only considerate. If you can treat others well, you are in good position to help others reach a united goal.

So if you truly want others to follow, you need to win their trust and their respect and let them know that you know the way. People love following those that have a clear vision of the future.

Focusing the mind on the positive

We all go through some tough times in life, that's just life; it can't always be a bed of roses. However life is what you make it and by staying positive through the bad times as well as the good can make all the difference and gets you through the tough times with a smile.

But the big question is "how do you stay positive when things get tough?" Staying upbeat at times like this is the last thing on your mind, but it should be the first, you need to think positively now more than ever.

The key to staying positive is to take your mind off your problems and worries and re-energizing your mind, this is especially true when you are having a bad day and you feel sorry for yourself and want to sit down and cry. Here are some excellent tips for keeping a positive outlook in life no matter what's going around you.

- If you find yourself around those who are negative then break free from them, negativity has a way of passing from person to person and they will drag you down with them.

- Don't sit in front of the TV for hours at a time, the news is depressing, cop shops feature violence and death and negativity in some form is found on almost every show. If you do watch TV go for the more positive program such as a nature documentary showing the wonderful world in all its glory or a comedy.

- Spend as much time as you can with your family and loved ones, do something together which you all enjoy and aim to have a family night at least once a week where you can spend quality time together.

- In times when you are feeling particularly low and negativity starts to creep in, listen to a motivational CD or repeat positive affirmations to yourself to bring back a positive attitude.

- Take time out each day to just do something that you enjoy doing that doesn't require you to make choices or decisions, something which relaxes you to the fullest.

- Try doing something that you wouldn't normally do, something that is totally unlike you and out of character, take up a new hobby or sport that you would never have dreamed of doing.

- Get some exercise, this could be something as simply taking a walk in the fresh air and is totally free or go to the gym or taking part in activities such as yoga.

- Set yourself goals in order to get ahead and when you accomplish a goal give yourself a small reward for doing so

- Learn techniques that allow you to bring your attention and focus back to the task on hand quickly.

- Use affirmations throughout the day to instill self-confidence and positive thoughts and feelings.

- Always look for the best in bad situations, while things might not be what we expect if you look hard enough you may find they are not as bad as they seem to be.

- Remember that the situation won't last forever, this is only a temporary stage you are going through and it will get better.

The sky is your limit

You can accomplish anything you set your mind to, the sky really is your limit, and providing you follow a few simple steps, you are able to accomplish anything in life. The key to success is, being absolutely committed to achieving what it is you want, set your mind to taking whatever steps needed to accomplish what you want and you change your approach and stick with this new approach until you achieve what you want.

The steps are relatively easy to follow and changes can be made easily to determine your success in anything that you want to achieve in life, let's take a closer look at the above steps.

Commitment
You should take positive action and decide exactly what it is you wish to achieve in life and set your goal, once you have set your mind on what you want you should go into it with utter conviction and commitment.

When you are planning and setting out your goal you have to have firm conviction that you will achieve your goal whatever it takes, you should visualize your goal from beginning to end and see yourself achieving whatever it is you set out do.

Take whatever steps are needed
Once you have decided to go for it and have made the commitment then the next step is to start taking action towards reaching your goal, taking the first step is actually the hardest part because it means going out there and actually doing something.

Thinking about what it is you have to do is the easy part as is saying you are committed to doing, but doing means facing the unknown and putting your plan into action and this stage is very often where most people fail, because fear stops us from moving forward.

Sticking with it
When you have made the commitment and taken the plunge into making your dream or goal a reality you have to have perseverance and be willing to change your approach until you finally reach your desired goal.

Depending on what it is that you set out to do this could take some time but it essential that you stay as committed to seeing the project through as when you first started out, it can help to keep a journal of your project from start to finish, this way you are able to see how far you have come and keep your mind focused on the outcome you wish to achieve.

Life has many unexpected quirks and can throw anything at us so it is important that you continue pushing yourself through any unexpected hard times continually onwards towards your goal. Once again fear is the main problem and the biggest reason why most people fail to achieve and give up what they set out to do, if you give in to fear it will only continue to put bigger blocks in your way until eventually it overcomes you and you give in.

The sky really is your limit if you attempt set out to accomplish with perseverance and determination to overcome anything that is thrown into your path.

You Can Learn to Become an Efficient Public Speaker

High among the list of scary things for many people is the fear of public speaking. Few things can strike fear into the heart of a person and one of them is facing an audience.

At any point in anyone's life, a person has the opportunity to talk in front of an audience. If you plan to grow a really big business, you will need to make corporate presentations and public seminars about your business & services.

Everyone who is faced with such a dilemma knows those familiar feelings of anxiety. This situation is often accompanied by sweaty palms, shaky voices, palpitations, and sometimes a few sobs.

It is at this precise moment that "visions" come -- thoughts of being laughed at and ridiculed emerged. You imagine standing frozen in front as you forgot what to say, mumbled along, and placed everyone to sleep.

At this point, you are yanked back into reality by the sound of the presenter introducing your name. What follows next can be pretty ugly.

Those who have experienced similar situations know how difficult and uncomfortable it is to make a speech. Even confident people can sometimes be stopped by stage fright. This has led many people to despise public speaking.

Yet there are people do it with such seemingly relative ease! It is because they know that public speaking is like a skill that can be learned. It can be learned by anyone, including you.

One of the most important things in preparing to make a speech is to maintain a positive mental attitude. Let your fears pass through you and realize that many people have done this before and therefore, you can do it too.

Here are some things to remember in making a speech:

1) Preparation is key.

You must know your topic inside and out. Write an outline of the speech, highlighting all the key points. Prepare possible questions and answers.

It's important to understand the topic and not just to memorize words. That way, even if you forget the words mid-speech, you still have confidence to continue.

2) Practice as much as possible.

You must practice until you know it by heart. Use a timer to control the pace of the speech. A timer is useful especially if there is a time limit. Practice in front of a mirror and practice in front of friends. Ask for their opinions on how to improve your speech.

3) Arrive at the venue early and get a feel of the place.

Try rehearsing on the actual podium. Consider your appearance. Dress well in comfortable clothes. This will inspire confidence in your self, as well as, make good impression on the audience.

4) Breathe deeply.

It is normal to feel anxious before a speech but you can't let nervousness stop you from being effective. Deep breathing increases the flow of oxygen into the brain. This helps maintain a clear mind. It would also be good to have a glass of water on hand.

5) Don't be afraid of the audience.

Never assume that the audience knows more about the topic than you do. The audience isn't there to hurt you. They are there in order to hear what you have to say. Pretend that the audience is composed of friends and family. Better yet, have one of your friends who listened to your speech attend.

Remember to maintain a positive mentality at all times. Never entertain the thought of messing up. Be confident in your preparations and in yourself. Believe that you can do it and you will.

Anyone can learn to speak in public confidently. All it takes is some practice and a positive mental attitude to overcome this common fear.

Psychological Self-Improvement: Ways to Overcome Fear

People are usually afraid of negative things.

This fear stops them from pursuing self-improvement. Psychological self-improvement can help people in this situation.

In psychological self-improvement, the best way to remove this fear is to understand that life is always in the cycle of ups and downs. No one is permanently up or permanently down. Remember that no one can avoid these ups and downs even the most envied Hollywood stars.

What we should do about these downs is to learn from it and not to avoid it. We should learn how to handle our problems for our psychological self-improvement.

Problems affect us every day. These problems bring us misery due to the fact that we have feelings. We should never loose hope in figuring out solutions to these problems. All we need is to learn how to overcome it and not to be overcome.

Problems can never be overcome but we can learn from them. This is where Psychology plays an important role.

Psychologists say that we should always be careful in our decisions concerning our problems. We should handle our problems properly and learn how to deal with it. Learning from mistakes helps us in preparing ourselves for psychological self-improvement

There are a lot of myths about every event in our lives is due to pre-determined reason. Another belief says that what we encounter in our lives today is our preparation for other things that may come in our lives. To understand what may happen to us in the future, we must learn from the present.

With all that, it is also true that the unexpected can happen anytime. However, you should keep in mind that a psychological self-improvement is not always for the worse and consequently, you must never let go of a chance, because you are afraid to take the risk.

Remember that, from time to time, something has to happen in order to free you from monotony, so you shouldn't be surprised if, at a certain moment in time, instead of being afraid of change, you desire it with all your heart.

If there are some things that hinder you from going on, here are some tips to help you move forward:
Just think of the positive impacts results from the psychological self-improvement. Know important they are and reflect on how to increase them, by adding some other good aspects, which need certain assistance.

Try to picture somebody else in your situation, as picturing ourselves in a less desirable position, always looks more dramatic than it really is. If you realize that the other person can handle the change, you can be sure you'll be able to handle it as well. This is a good psychological self-improvement.

Think of the worst situation that can result after the self-improvement. Try to find various solutions to it. Reflect on how much you can loose, if the worst happened, and how important those things are to you. If you find more than one reasonable solution, you are safe and the self-improvement can't be stronger than you are!

Self-improvement is not bad at all. All we need is to learn how to handle some negative changes. We should also reflect from it to learn and use it in the future events that we may encounter. This could be your ultimate psychological self-improvement.
